Amertac offers complete lines of distinctive decorative home accent products that include: trend-forward Wallplates, money saving LED Nite Lites, innovative Under Cabinet Lighting and charming Lawn & Garden Accessories. Our products are distributed to leading home centers, lighting showrooms, mass merchandisers, drug and supermarket chains throughout North America.

Founded in 1937 in New York City, American Tack Company soon became the country's largest supplier of thumb tacks and decorative furniture nails. Acquisitions expanded the product offering and the company became American Tack & Hardware operating out of the Flatiron Building in New York City.

Now known as AmerTac, the company is headquartered in Saddle River, NJ. with distribution facilities in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania. As we look to the future, we remain committed to the principles upon which the company was founded - quality products, good value and outstanding customer service.

Environmental Statement

AmerTac is committed to a green environment through the development of money and energy saving products and the use of environmentally-friendly packaging.

Whenever possible, AmerTac uses recyclable packaging material such as blister cards made from recycled paper fibers and plastic blisters from more friendly materials like PET. Our distribution facility handles all transactions paperlessly and ships product in 100% recycled corrugated boxes with "air pillows" instead of packing "peanuts" - all in an effort to reduce the burden on our landfills. Our facilities also use the latest in energy-efficient technology, such as motion-activated office lighting, to reduce energy consumption and minimize our costs – helping the environment and keeping our prices to you lower.

Our Light Control and Timer products automatically turn lights and appliances on/off only when you need them – saving on utility bills and saving Mom’s voice from screaming, "Turn those lights off!" Our energy-efficient LED Nite Lites and Undercabinet Lights have small light emitting diodes that use a fraction of the energy required by standard incandescent bulbs. Plus, they are long-lasting and cool-to-the-touch.

In addition to beautifying the outside your home, AmerTac Lawn & Garden products also save energy and help the environment. Our decorative Solar Accent and Pathway Lighting uses batteries that charge by sunlight during the day and automatically come on at dusk to add a decorative touch to your garden and safely light your way around the house. They’re completely self-contained and off-the-grid, so they cost you nothing to operate. Plus, our CocoPlanter� liners, found on many of our decorative planters, are made of 100% biodegradeable coconut fibers.

Environmental Responsibility

AmerTac’s Corporate Headquarters building is highly energy efficient with computer controlled HVAC that aligns heating and cooling delivery with building occupancy and usage patterns. Every office has motion sensors that automatically turns lights off minutes after leaving the room.

Our PA Distribution Facility uses high-efficiency lighting throughout. A dedicated carton monorail system takes empty boxes to be compacted and recycled. Shipping boxes are made of 100% recyclable cardboard and recycled plastic air “pillows” instead of bubble-wrap or “peanuts” are used.
